Euro 2025: Sweden beats Denmark yet again this year on Filippa Angeldahl's goal
GENEVA (AP) — Sweden swept past Denmark yet again on Friday, winning 1-0 at the Women's European Championship for a third victory this year over its near neighbor. One month after a 6-1 rout in Stockholm, Filippa Angeldahl's smart finish of a neat passing attack in the 55th minute was enough for an impressive Swedish team on another hot evening in Switzerland. Angeldahl severely tested Denmark goalkeeper Maja Bay Ostergaard to save a long-range free kick in the first half and beat her with more power in the second. The midfielder exchanged passes with captain Kosovare Asllani — making her 200th appearance for Sweden — before striding on to shoot low past Ostergaard's dive. Denmark star forward Pernille Harder's shot from distance rattled the Sweden crossbar in the 81st. Later Friday in Group C, favored Germany was playing Poland in St. Gallen. It was the third time Sweden and Denmark opened a Women's Euros facing each other and it ended 1-1 in both 2005 and 2013. Sweden beat Denmark twice in a Nations League group this year, starting with 2-1 in Odense in February. That time, Harder was marked toughly by veteran Sweden defender Magdalena Eriksson who has been her partner since 2014. Eriksson was a surprise absence from the lineup on Friday due to a muscle strain lingering since a warmup game. She was ably replaced by 38-year-old Linda Sembrant, playing her 157th game for Sweden. Playing in 86-degree heat (30 C) at the 6 p.m. kickoff, both teams took breaks for drinks several times in each half. The playing surface was mostly shaded by the stadium roof though fans along one length of the field were bathed in direct sunshine for the entire match. The drinks delays helped to add up to 16 minutes of total stoppage time, including a delay of more than four minutes for a video review early in the game. Denmark thought it might be getting a penalty kick for a foul on Harder. The free kick was eventually awarded to Sweden by Brazilian referee Edina Alves because winger Madelen Janogy was tripped by a Denmark player before falling into Harder. Yellow-clad fans at the Salève mountain end of the stadium brought classic Swedish pop music into the game. They sang in both halves to the tune of Abba's 'Lay All Your Love On Me' accompanied by a beating drum. Before kickoff the stadium observed a period of silence in memory of Portugal and Liverpool forward Diogo Jota who died this week aged 28 in a car crash in Spain. ___

153 countries importing toys from India: Piyush Goyal
New Delhi [India], July 4 (ANI): India's toy industry, once heavily dependent on imports, is now manufacturing domestically and exporting to 153 countries, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal addressing the 16th Toy Biz International B2B Expo 2025 on Friday said as he highlighted this remarkable transformation. He said that this shift has been made possible through consistent policy support, the enforcement of quality standards, and the strengthening of local manufacturing clusters. The implementation of the Quality Control Order (QCO), he added, has helped make India a quality-conscious country and enabled domestic toy manufacturers to meet global benchmarks. The Minister stated that India's population of 1.4 billion offers a vast captive market, which creates a natural advantage for scaling up manufacturing. With this scale, the industry can achieve cost efficiency and become globally competitive. The large domestic market, he said, not only supports expansion but also acts as a foundation for international growth. To capture the global market, Goyal stressed the need for the industry to focus on good branding, attractive packaging, and strong product design. He said that if these three aspects are prioritised, Indian toys can gain stronger appeal across international markets. The growth of the toy industry, Goyal noted, reflects the broader journey of development in the country. He recalled that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Vocal for Local initiative, it was met with skepticism by many, as foreign products dominated consumer preference. However, under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and the belief that Local can go Global, awareness and support for home-grown industries have steadily increased. Goyal stated that startups developing innovative toy concepts have received significant support through the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, which has now been extended to 20 years. This, he said, has provided access to collateral-free loans for small businesses. He further informed that to promote domestic production, 18 toy clusters across the country have been supported by the Ministry of MSME. To build on this progress, the Minister said that the government is planning to introduce a new promotional scheme for the toy sector. The scheme, he explained, will aim to help Indian toy manufacturers become world-class by enhancing design capabilities, ensuring quality manufacturing, strengthening packaging, and supporting brand building. With sustained focus on innovation, quality, and market development, Goyal expressed confidence that India's toy industry is poised to become a key player in the global market. (ANI)

Microsoft Warns 400 Million Windows Users—Upgrade Your PC Now
Don't leave it too late, Microsoft tells users. This should have been a huge milestone for Microsoft, one years in the making. But instead it's overshadowed by a critical new decision for 400 million of its users, the exact same number that seemed to ditch Windows in another surprising twist. Windows 11 has finally caught Windows 10's market share after years of frustration. Data to the end of June, courtesy of Statcounter, shows the two neck and neck — with less than a percentage point between them. Given this data is not exact, that's within any statistical margin of error. We can say the milestone has been reached. At least for now. Microsoft's decision to let all Windows 10 users stick with the older OS for another year, even if their PC can be upgraded seems a mistake. That u-turn on Microsoft's part made absolute sense when it comes to those with older, ineligible PCs. But given the acceleration in recent upgrades, it seems the wrong time to reverse. Microsoft warns users eligible to upgrade that they should do so now, waiting is an unnecessary security risk. 'New Windows 11 PCs have seen a reported 62% drop in security incidents," it says, "and a 3x reported reduction in firmware attacks.' Microsoft tells waivering users that 'Windows 11 is secure by design and by default, with layers of defense enabled on day one to enhance your protection without the need to first configure settings.' It is, the company says, "the most secure operating system we've ever built, and offers advanced security like TPM 2.0.' Windows 11 catches WIndows 10 - finally. That's the same hardware that separates PCs that can and can't upgrade to Windows 11. 'Security is at the heart of Windows 11,' after all, and so reducing pressure on users to upgrade by offering them a Windows 10 extension seems a backward step. Conversely, allowing those with older, ineligible PCs to maintain Windows 10 security updates makes sense, and it should allay the feared PC landfill catastrophe feared by some. Although, this temporary solution is still being criticized as a part measure. Of the 700 million Windows 10 users, it's thought more than 400 million can upgrade, with at least 240 million PCs missing that security hardware hurdle. Those 400 million users should not be tempted into staying put and should upgrade now. Notably, some reports suggested Microsoft may have actually lost 400 million Windows users in the last few years, which would make all this math wrong. But it turns out that was just an error in a company post that did say 1 billion instead of 1.4 billion users, but which now says "Windows powers over 1.4 billion monthly active devices." Whether it's October 2025 or October 2026, I suspect Microsoft will be delighted to consign its Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrade program to the company history books. This has been a roller coaster and it is now resulting in inevitable compromises. The sooner the user base hunkers down on the latest version of the OS the better.

Ex-Titans OL Taylor Lewan recalls regretful moment vs. Steelers' James Harrison
When players retire from the NFL, they often talk about other players or matchups that left an imprint on their careers, or when together in a group they talk about specific players who challenged them, or had an intimidating reputation. One player that often comes up in conversations is Pittsburgh Steelers edge James Harrison. Harrison was not only intimidating, but his performances could be scary. The undrafted rookie's rise to become one of the most dominant players in league history is well-documented, and those who faced him in his prime will never forget their battles. That includes former Tennessee Titans offensive tackle Taylor Lewan, who got to meet the freight train early in his career and talked about the experience on the Bussin' with the Boys podcast. 'I played him my rookie year on Monday Night Football.' Lewan said on the podcast Bussin' with the Boys. 'Before the game started, all the offensive line were like, 'Hey, we know you like to chatter a little bit. Don't talk to this guy. Don't say a word to him. Just leave him alone. Hopefully he stays asleep during the game.' But it's like Monday Night Football. I'm hyped up. I'm juiced up. 'I'm ready to make a name for myself. So, three plays into the game, something happens. I'm like, 'I'm here all day,' whatever dumbass comment I make. 'I'm here all fucking day.' And he doesn't say a word to me.' Even though Lewan was facing an older Harrison, what transpired that night left a lasting impression on the young offensive tackle. Harrison did not let the trash-talking just disappear into the night. 'Then, like he kind of lines up in a four (technique), and I'm like, 'I'm about to cut off this dude so fast.' And I go to cut him off, I go to put an arm up. He drops down to the ground and just grabs my ankle and starts gator rolling. Starts gator rolling me. And right then and there, I thought, 'Okay, yeah, it might be over for me.' It might be over for this conversation the rest of the game." That game during Week 11 of the 2014 season struck a chord with Lewan, who went on to have a successful career with the Titans, earning three Pro Bowl selections before retiring in 2022.

Former Iowa football great named one of greatest NFL draft picks ever
If you ask any current or former NFL general manager what one of the most underrated aspects of teambuilding is, they'll probably bring up day three picks in the draft. Those fourth through seventh round picks are the ones that provide the necessary depth for teams to make deep runs in January. But they can also produce star players as well, like Tom Brady, Terrell Davis and Jason Kelce. Numerous former Hawkeyes have been taken in these rounds and a few of them have turned into stars, with one Hawk receiving high praise from ESPN. Ben Solak, a writer at ESPN, put together a list of the best NFL draft pick at every draft slot from 1-262. The list is a who's who of some of the greatest NFL players of all time and one former Iowa football star who was drafted on day three got a spot on the list. George Kittle was drafted with the 146th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and Solak selected him as the greatest 146th overall pick ever. One of the most loaded picks outside of the top 50 is No. 146, which saw Vikings WR Stefon Diggs (2015), Ravens edge Matthew Judon (2016) and Kittle (2017) drafted in consecutive years. Throw in Eagles DE Trent Cole (2005) and Washington QB Mark Rypien (1986) and you have an unbelievable group of midround selections. Kittle gets the nod for me. He has spent his entire career with the 49ers and has made the Pro Bowl in six of eight possible seasons and made an All-Pro team in five of the eight. The fact that Diggs and Judon both had their career-best seasons with teams other than the ones that drafted them makes a difference, too. Let's revisit in a few more years and debate it all again. - Ben Solak, ESPN. Kittle played at Iowa from 2013-2016 and his stats don't jump off the page. In 40 career games, he had 48 receptions for 737 yards and ten receiving touchdowns. Despite lackluster production in college, Kittle's size (6-foot-4 247 pound) and blocking prowess were enough for the San Francisco 49er's to take a flyer on him in 2017. And that pick has paid dividends ever since. Across eight seasons in the red and gold, Kittle is a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All Pro. He's played in 113 games for the Niners and has 538 receptions, 7380 receiving yards and 45 receiving touchdowns. He's 14th in all-time receiving yards by a tight end in the NFL and is just 600 yards away from cracking the top-ten of that list. Kittle has turned into one of the greatest tight ends of his generation and is very deserving of his spot on Solak's list. Not too shabby for a fifth-round pick.
